On Saturday, 4th October 2025, martial artists from across Ireland and beyond came together at St Jarlath’s College, Tuam, Co. Galway for the IMAF Ireland Annual Taikai — a day dedicated to sharing knowledge, exploring new styles, and celebrating the rich diversity of martial arts.

Unlike competitive tournaments, the Taikai focused on learning, connection, and collaboration. With four training areas (tatami) running throughout the day and instruction from national and international instructors, participants experienced a truly immersive and inclusive event.

Over 15 different martial arts disciplines were represented, including Kenpo, Nihon Taiho Jutsu, Matsubayashi Ryu, Kobujutsu, Taijiquan, Shotokan, Haedong Kumdo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and many others. Each session offered unique insights into technique, philosophy, and tradition, providing something of value for every participant — from beginners to seasoned practitioners.

The atmosphere was one of respect, enthusiasm, and unity, as martial artists came together to learn from one another and strengthen the bonds that connect Ireland’s diverse martial arts community.

IMAF Ireland extends sincere thanks to all the instructors, participants, and volunteers who made the event such a success. The Annual Taikai continues to embody our mission — promoting collaboration, cultural appreciation, and excellence across all martial arts disciplines.
